The Price is Right contestant Jonathan Sterritt caught our attention a few weeks back. So we did what we do best: stalk guys from television and ask them personal questions! Jonathan was a trooper and fun to talk with -- learn more about him after the jump!
Troy, Hunkologist: Hi Jonathan! So why did you move to California?
Jonathan Sterritt: I moved out here to study and develop my acting career. I love it! It was a smooth transition.
Troy, Hunkologist: What's the most awesome thing about SoCal?
Jonathan Sterritt: Besides In and Out Burger? I'd probably have to say just the diversity of the city. I have only been here a little bit, but I have met and experienced so many different people. That is pretty awesome to me!
Troy, Hunkologist: Our readers may recognize you from your appearance on The Price is Right a couple of weeks ago; how did that come about?
Jonathan Sterritt: I actually went with a very large group of my co-workers. I work in The Grove -- a shopping center right next to CBS -- so we were able to get tickets.
I had a little of an idea of what it took to get on the show, because my co-workers had been before and told me how the selection process worked. They interview everyone, and my question was "What do you like to do for fun?"
I was able to just be myself - and I explained to them that since I was new to the city, everything I had been doing was fun. I have a lot of energy to begin with so that carried through in my answer - I had no idea, though, that out of 400 my name was going to be called!
Troy, Hunkologist: Plus in "contestant's row" you won a skee-ball table! Do you have room for that?
Jonathan Sterritt: No! In fact, afterwards I sat down and was trying to figure out what I was going to do with it. They gave me the option to take the cash value for it, which is what i ended up doing. That paid my rent for the month!
Troy, Hunkologist: You got onstage and played Easy as 1-2-3 -- where you have to arrange items in order of price.
Jonathan Sterritt: Yes... The fridge the skunked me!
When you are up there, everything is happening so fast - and the audience is literally no help. It's just a jumbled mess.
Troy, Hunkologist: You also got skunked by the big wheel, but the upside - you got your rent paid for the month from that skee-ball table.
Jonathan Sterritt: Yeah, I have no complaints. It was a aweseome experience! And - the face time on national tv didn't hurt either!
Troy, Hunkologist: So you're studying acting... what would your dream role be?
Jonathan Sterritt: I have always wanted to be in a cool action movie with guns and stunts and explosions.
Troy, Hunkologist: The next... Rambo? The Rock?
Jonathan Sterritt: Think more like Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible or Matt Damon. My goal to to be diverse in my craft. The Oscar is the light at the end of the tunnel - but I just want to tell stories and hope people are entertained.
Troy, Hunkologist: You're a single guy in SoCal -- what are the gals like out there compared to Dallas?
Jonathan Sterritt: It's two different worlds. I feel like in SoCal, the girls are a little more spontaneous - like I am. I like a girl I can go out and have fun doing whatever with. Also, SoCal has more to do.
Troy, Hunkologist: What can a gal do to make you go "Hey, now...."?
Jonathan Sterritt: I love a girl with a sense of humor - you must have the ability to carry on a conversation - and you must like scary movies.
Troy, Hunkologist: It's Jonathan's day off -- what's he doing out in SoCal?
Jonathan Sterritt: It has to be the beach - my favorite place in the world! I swim, bring my frisbee out with my friends, and we toss it around. I'm also learning how to surf. The beach is also really great for meeting new people.
Troy, Hunkologist: Any pets?
Jonathan Sterritt: I do - Brutus. Coolest dog in the universe. He is a pomeranian but dont let that fool you. He is quite the ladies man. Sometimes he steals my thunder!
Troy, Hunkologist: Boxers or briefs?
Jonathan Sterritt: Boxers all the way! I dont mind the hybrid if I'm playing sports, though.
Troy, Hunkologist: Finally - you said you love scary movies. What's the best darn scary movie ever?
I like Paranormal Activity because of how they did the marketing with it...i went into not knowing anything about it and the night scenes were intense. I think Drag Me to Hell is just a good all around horror flick. But, I will watch anything. Movies are my favorite hobby!
