Chris Turk, VMan Ford Model Search Entrant

This is Chris Turk and as of this posting he's currently in the lead over at the VMan.com Ford Models Model Search reader poll. The winner of their model search will be awarded a contract with Ford Models, and will be photographed by Hedi Slimane for the cover of VMAN11.

The contest runs from today through May 31st. Ronnie Kroell

I have a little reality TV crush on Ronnie Kroell from Bravo's Make Me A Supermodel. I think he's just adorable and as sweet as all get-out.

However (and Ronnie, it breaks my heart to say this) I have to throw my support behind Holly as the season's favorite. Ronnie, I hope you'll forgive me... and maybe come over for dinner with Doug & I next time you're in Seattle... but she's been kicking some serious ass.

We've put the call out to entrants of the VMan.com Ford Models Model Search 2008 asking them to tell us why they should win the public vote. Our latest reply is from Andrew Haskell, who says:

I believe that I have what it takes to become the win a contract with Ford Models and become next cover model for VMan Magazine. I have been pursuing a career in modeling for the past 5 years of my life and have grown immensely, both physically and mentally. Truthfully, I was always the scrawny kid growing up resulting in a lack of self-confidence. I never would have imagined modeling as an option in my future, but each opportunity to create a character in front of the camera gives me an adrenaline rush that is absolutely addicting and I know that this is now my passion. Damann Twins, Todd & Eric

We talked with Todd & Eric Dammann last September when their cover of the Britney Spears song Gimme More was all the rage. (See our Q&A) Now these adorable gay twins are back with a cover of Rihanna's Umbrella. They've entered it for a contest at XuWee, and we think it's pretty great.

Cry-Baby The Musical

John Waters is doing it again... Cry-Baby is hitting the Broadway stage! After the smash hit Hairspray, all eyes are on Cry-Baby to see if it lives up to it's big sister's success.

Baltimore, 1954. Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker is the coolest boy in town. He's a bad boy with a good cause--truth, justice, and the pursuit of rock 'n roll--and when he falls for a good girl who wants to be bad, her charm school world of bobby sox and barbershop quartets will never be the same.

To celebrate the show's opening, we're going to be giving away tickets to see one of the performances in May 2008. Of course, we're going to do it in our own special way... we'll be playing our version of Name That Tune with some great showtunes.

If you don't know Sondheim from Schwartz, don't worry -- even if you get every answer wrong you'll be eligible for our "second chance" drawing.

Today we hear from Stefan Zebrowski-Rubin, our next featured contestant from the VMan.com Ford Models Model Search 2008. He has the adorable mop top going, here's what he had to say about entering the contest:

One thing I do know in the Vmagazine/Ford competition is that I am far from conventional. I'm sure I entered the competition for the same reasons as the other guys. somewhat on a whim and because others have told us we should "be models." As I come to the end of my college career at Harvard studying Art History and Italian Studies, I find myself with a curiosity for fashion and a desire to enter the industry. Fashion has hit mainstream culture, yet I still have a desire for it to remain sophisticated and artful. I'm not the ridiculously chiseled sporty man but am a man of a more demure and pensive presence. I believe that I still embody masculinity but do so in a different way, in an elegant manner. Ultimately, whoever the man, I would love to see male fashion pushed to more daring and experimental heights. In sum, I bring a reasoned intelligence and European look to the table. Whether you place me at the top of this competition or not, you can be sure that in due time you'll be hearing from me. But, of course, I could use your support.

Edilson Nascimento

Today in the HDJ Mailbox we got a very nice surprise! Brazilian supermodel Edilson Nascimento (Vision Model Management) modeling some of the hottest underwear fashions for International Jock.

Edilson flew up to California for the afternoon shoot, modeling from the Spring collections of brands like Diesel and Calvin Klein. The folks at International Jock promise much more on their website, so be sure to check them out!

I just started my entry in to the VMan.com search and I believe I should get your votes because I know I am a true model. I can do photos and runway and I just really love fashion. I love to smile, workout, play bball and play on my xbox. I have been modeling for almost 2 years in Northern California and I really wanted to model around the world and if i win this, then I know the doors will open up for me and definitly expand my future.
