Well, Dick, there's no "oh he's so old" comment because Carter apparently takes care of his appearance. A man of any age who prides himself on being fit, healthy, and looking good is attractive. When they live life way too hard and look like a train wreck at 35 or 40, they are not attractive.
There's less age-ism than people think in the gay world. We're just choosey.

Carter has a gorgeous head of hair, but the hottest man by far on DiY is Jason Cameron. That body, that face, and that deep baritone voice...

That's the biggest lie I have ever heard. It's also naieve, and unrealistic. If you're 40 and average in any way, you are dismissed by the gay community at large...And no, I am not over 40 and ugly, I just know too many sad and dejected men who are ridiculed by a big section of the gay scene... how dare they even try to meet anyone, let alone think they can actually be sexual...
.Gay men - even older gay men, actually ESPECIALLY older gay men - are so self-loating they only want their idealized selves....this may change someday, slowly.
How many average-looking men are discarded because they don't fit a certain "ideal"? Tell that to sad guy at the bar on Friday night, because no one will look at him, because he's not perfect in some ridiculous media-inspired way? We are told what is hot and we believe it....

He's also rumored to have one of the largest tools in the shed. Friend of a friend (woman) dated him.. and couldn't handle the digger. Too big.
