Matt Grant, just named The Bachelor 12 by ABC

I was on jury duty this morning and missed the news... Matt Grant has been named by ABC as The Bachelor 12! They tapped the handsome brit to lead the series and give things a bit of an international flavor -- and we all know how big of suckers we are for accents. And now from the book of PR, chapter 10...

This totally charming and witty English gentleman works with millionaire businessmen, but he has something on his mind that is more urgent than any business deal - he wants to find the love of his life and to start a family as soon as possible.

[ Note: I'd love to share another photo or two with you, but ABC keeps denying me access to abcmedianet.com -- Help me ABC PR team, you're my only hope. ]

What do you think of the new Bachelor? Should they have looked harder in the USA? Are you more excited about the bevy of suitors to appear this summer on the next season of The Bachelorette? Can you even find true love on TV?

[ UPDATE: The Hollywood Gossip has more photos. Thanks, Dann! ]

I'm not trying to be rude, BUT I am sick of British people taking over American television.

National Bingo was hosted by a Brit.

the Next Great American Band was hosted by a Brit.

Now the Bachelor is a Brit.

Are there NO gooding looking Bachelors left in America?

I am officially boycotting any american show that has its main "character" a brit.

Harry Potter see what you started!!!!!!!

So no more:

- House (Hugh Laurie)
- Frasier (Jane Leeves)
- American Idol (Simon Cowell)
- Without a Trace (Marianne Jean-Baptiste)
- Craig Ferguson Show (Craig Ferguson)
- Cashmere Mafia (Frances O'Connor)
- Journeyman (Kevin McKidd)
- Moonlight (Sophia Myles)
- Bionic Woman (Michelle Ryan)
- Babylon Fields (Ray Stevenson)

...and the list goes on.

I'm all for patriotism, but I'm not ready to start discriminating against television shows who decided the best actor for the part was from another country.

You want to try living in Britain where we are bombarded with American everything.
Any old rubbish from your country ends up over here whether we want it or not. Every other TV show is American.
There is a whole world out there beyond your shores, open your mind, wake up and realise this, the world does not start and end at AMERICA!
Not stopping here McDonalds and Starbucks are popping up in China, Russia and, no doubt, soon the Middle East...
