Val Emmich is a musician, but he first reached our eyes when he played Jamie the Coffee Guy on 30 Rock -- our favorite show on television. (You can watch the entire episode after the jump, courtesy of Hulu.) Val also just picked up an Independent Music Award for his video The Only One Lonely, featuring him playing with some unlikely bandmates on some orange shag carpet.

Big Brother Brazil 8 starts tonight, and Made in Brazil reports that a contestant has dropped out at the last minute. The show must go on, though -- and the departure allows this hottie, Rafael Ribeiro (Rafinha) to enter the house.

The non-US versions of Big Brother end up having the most wild moments that show up on television and the web... we hope that this season is no different!

You were "outed" at a very young age at school and at home. How bad was it at school for you?
School was relatively easy. After the initial gossip and social stigma which is in most cases a staple of Middle School in any case things calmed down. I was a pretty much a nerd until I came out in 8th grade. Once I did come out and the initial surprise was over, I became something of a novelty among many of the girls and all wanted a gay best friend. So I made a lot of friends, and since the boys wanted to talk to the girls they acted cool with me in order to not anger any girls. It was an interesting social structure. I did have to deal with the occasional homophobic student which was physical or extremely vocal about his disapproval of the LGBT identity. I think dealing with these forms of marginalization and stigma, especially from the school administration, allowed me to grow up and mature a lot faster than most. This also gave me a lot more confidence in my abilities and once I reached high school I pursued several different interests in academia, extra curricular activities, community service, student government, and even competitive sports.

Sometimes it's the little things that bring the most pleasure -- we're always taking suggestions (and compliments!) on our contact us page. We read every piece of mail, and respond to almost all of them!

Love him or hate him, Ryan Seacrest is a Hollywood juggernaut who you'll only be seeing more of in the next few months. Last night marked the return of American Idol, which FOX is expecting to steamroll over their strike-weakened competition.

I don't really know what happened on the show last night, because I usually skip the "awkward auditions" week(s) of the program and join in at the semi-finals. (Doug watched, so he might have some more insights.) Let us know in the comments if there were any particularly hot and talented guys who auditioned that we need to watch out for.

Sonny Bill Williams has some pretty cool body art. This rugby player is originally from New Zealand, and plays in the National Rugby League in Australia for the Canterbury Bulldogs.

While this 22-year-old is sizzling hot, I think I could do without the "Williams" tattooed across the back of his shoulders. The rest of the ink is pretty nice, though!

Sean Maguire stars in a slapstick send-up of the controversial 300... and as you can see from the poster below, there is little in pop-culture that is off-limits. Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet III premiered on MTV last night. The cast has already kicked it up a few notches -- I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but there's boy on boy makeout in epsiode 1... along with plenty of boy / girl makeout and girl / crazy girl makeout... They sure know how to cast 'em -- and ensure that the liquor cabinet is stocked up.

Contestant Coral remarks: "I can't wait to see the break-ups... it's going to be way better than the making out. WAY better!" I have to agree -- I mean, all of the hooking up in Episode 1 must lead to some stellar drama later on in the show.

Novak Djokovic won the Men's Singles draw at the Australian Open, the first Serbian player to secure a Grand Slam singles title. In the finals he beat unseeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who came out of nowhere with a performance that surprised all. 20-year-old Djokovic turned pro in 2003.
