Val Emmich, Singer

Val Emmich is a musician, but he first reached our eyes when he played Jamie the Coffee Guy on 30 Rock -- our favorite show on television. (You can watch the entire episode after the jump, courtesy of Hulu.) Val also just picked up an Independent Music Award for his video The Only One Lonely, featuring him playing with some unlikely bandmates on some orange shag carpet.

Adam Brody, from The OC

The first time I heard the word "adorkable" it was in reference to Adam Brody, who played the lovable geek Seth Cohen on The OC. Say thanks to superherofan.net for the awesome screencaps!

Erik von Detten

Erik von Detten

Inspired by a link from Tottyland, today we're featuring Erik von Detten. He's appeared as a guest on some shows in the past year, though I really enjoyed seeing him on Celebrity Mole: Hawaii a few years back (with Kathy Griffin!)

Please help us out and give us your nominations for the 2007 Hunks of the Year.

Haka Victory, from Outsports

Outsports gives us a peek back into 2007 with their recap of the 2007 Best of Picture This. We've selected a few team photos to share, but you can check out the whole sh'bang at Outsports.

Don't forget to nominate someone for the 2007 Hunks of the Year -- there are still a few categories that are woefully under-nominated... such as hottest blogger! I know I can think of a few folks who fit the bill, give it some thought!

Cameron Mathison, from ABC's Dancing with the Stars and All My Children

You can buy Cameron Mathison! Okay, well maybe it is more like renting him for a couple days... Starting January 10th, 2008 he will be auctioned off by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS at broadwaycares.org. The winner will get to spend a few days with him in New York learning to dance with him for a performance at the ABC Daytime Salutes Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Get out your credit cards, boys and girls... not only is it for a great cause, but you'll have an experience that will be impossible to match!

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS also puts on the very popular Broadway Bares events every year.

Hello Hunk Lovers!

My apologies for the lack of new posts today, I got an offer I couldn't refuse and am enroute back to Seattle from Grand Cayman! A little sun was a fantastic treat, but I'm sorry you missed out on a post.

Look around and discover and old favorite in the meantime... Have you seen the tagcloud? A great way to find more hunks on Hunk du Jour!

See you soon,
Chris

Big Brother Brazil 8 starts tonight, and Made in Brazil reports that a contestant has dropped out at the last minute. The show must go on, though -- and the departure allows this hottie, Rafael Ribeiro (Rafinha) to enter the house.

The non-US versions of Big Brother end up having the most wild moments that show up on television and the web... we hope that this season is no different!

The Maccabees

Everyone is fair game in this new Maccabees music video, where an intense kiss is passed around a pub from patron to patron -- boy/girl, boy/boy, girl/girl, it doesn't matter. There's a great set of photos of the band on the KEXP Flickr photostream.

Rossif Sutherland is a television and indie film star, and also an aspiring musician. He starred in the film Poor Boy's Game which is currently doing the festival circuit, and appeared on E.R.

The Ford models are on location in Brazil, and talk about why they think the sungas (bikini) style swimwear is so much better for the boys. (And if you've got model looks, I'd have to agree... I'll personally stick to board shorts to spare everyone the tragedy!)

Scott Jordan, Bonnies Swim Team Member

Over at Outsports this college swimmer is telling his story of coming out in a small conservative school, establishing and respecting boundaries, and using the campus gossip network to come out by telling three people. Scott Jordan penned the piece, taking us into the locker room and refusing to tell us which of his teammates he thinks is cutest. (He he)

Scott is doing it how many of us find ourselves coming out... telling folks, and then showing we're the same person as we were last week. Our choice in partners has such little impact on how well we swim, sell widgets, write software, or find photos on the internet and post them with thoughtful banter!

Anderson Schneider from Garoto Pop

Garoto Pop is a new rival of the Brazilian site, The Boy and currently features the very handsome Anderson Schneider.

Okay, so the People's Choice Awards were kind of a snooze. (I TiVo'd the broadcast and couldn't even bear fast-forwarding through it.)

You still have time to nominate your favorite hunks for our 2007 Hunk sof the Year vote!

We've had some great suggestions so far, and fans of a popular soap stud have been flooding the nomination box with a cry out for their favorite.

We're interested in hearing what YOU think, though -- so comment on that post with your picks! Sunday will be the final day for nominations!

Zac Efron from High School Musical and Hairspray

Zac Efron has turned many heads in 2007 (was he a Hunk of the Year nominee?) including as 60's heartthrob Link Larkin in Hairspray. Here are some great photos of him I hadn't seen before, from Just Beautiful Men... a fantastic blog.

DJ Brett Henrichsen from SquareHippies

DJ Brett Henrichsen (aka DJ Masterbeat) comes to us via SquareHippies today. Brett spins around the country and runs Masterbeat, his own record label publishing club music.

Pick your showcase... who would you hope to be awarded as a fabulous prize on a game show?

Josh Wald, model

Supermodel skateboarder Josh Wald's image was burned into our brains when he wore some super-skimpy gray underwear down the runway. Did you know that he's also the man behind WALD Productions and has created an album titled "Mama's Boy Goes Digital."

Allan Acevedo

Allan was featured in Out Magazine's 100 Men & Women who made 2007! They only had a little bit of information on him so I tracked him down to find out more. Enjoy!

Relationship Status: Single
Occupation: Retail

You were "outed" at a very young age at school and at home. How bad was it at school for you?
School was relatively easy. After the initial gossip and social stigma which is in most cases a staple of Middle School in any case things calmed down. I was a pretty much a nerd until I came out in 8th grade. Once I did come out and the initial surprise was over, I became something of a novelty among many of the girls and all wanted a gay best friend. So I made a lot of friends, and since the boys wanted to talk to the girls they acted cool with me in order to not anger any girls. It was an interesting social structure. I did have to deal with the occasional homophobic student which was physical or extremely vocal about his disapproval of the LGBT identity. I think dealing with these forms of marginalization and stigma, especially from the school administration, allowed me to grow up and mature a lot faster than most. This also gave me a lot more confidence in my abilities and once I reached high school I pursued several different interests in academia, extra curricular activities, community service, student government, and even competitive sports.
