You are from Austin, but you are going to school in California now. How do you compare the two and if you had to call one of them home for the rest of your life which would you pick?
Austin, Texas is the place I became who I am so it is quite unlikely that I'll ever be able to consider any other place home. I love and miss the confident kindness of Texas and the weird, free-loving environment that defines Austin. Los Angeles has its pros, but differs so much from the laid-back life in Austin that I don't ever see myself adjusting to L.A. Instead, I'll continue to dream of dancing nights away at Oilcan Harry's on 4th Street in Austin.

Besides landing the cover of Adam Bouska's calendar, Exposed, Brian is also one of the hopefuls for Season Two of our latest guilty pleasure... VH1's America's Most Smartest Model.
If you like what you see, be sure to vote for Brian at VH1.
This is Matthew. He wants to answer your questions on YouTube. If you're interested in watching something like this, subscribe to his YouTube Channel... then send in your question!
Did you know that over 325 people read Hunk du Jour each day in their e-mail box? What a great way to stay up-to-date with the site! Choose from one of our two subscription options, depending on how often you want your hunks served up.
- EXPRESS Newsletter - Get updates as they happen!
- NIGHTLY Digest - A great recap of the previous day waiting for you each morning.
(If you're already an e-mail subscriber, we've put you on our Nightly Digest list, which will send you updates at around 2AM each day. But you can switch over to the EXPRESS whenever you're ready!)
Cast your vote after the jump! After that, why not vote for us at the 2007 GLBT Verve Awards? We're kind of getting trounced...
We're back with Adam Joseph (see our previous post from last year) and even more of his music videos and adorable photos. We first saw his video "Flow with My Soul" on The Click List (LOGO TV) and were very impressed. Check out that video and more below!
Cast your vote after the jump! Danilo's won it again -- remember your votes put him here! Make your voice heard and remember to vote -- both for the Hunk of the Day and for us in the Verve Awards.

We're very excited to share the work of Karim Konrad with you today. The photos, from his book Berlin Gay Mates, provide a bit of a photographic journey around what looks like the most interesting party house we've ever discovered.
Karim is living in Syndey Australia these days, hard at work on his second book. Check out his fantastic photos after the jump, share your thoughts in the comments!

"And the first item up for bids is..."
My friend Troy has been doing something really fun on his LiveJournal -- he'll take screen grabs of some of the guys appearing onstage on The Price Is Right and asking his friends to "Pick a Showcase." Which one of these guys would YOU bid on?
I'm pretty fond of #4 and #6, I think...

John Travolta was selected today as the Friday Hunk at Overlooked, a blog featuring some awesome throwback and forgotten merchandise from over the years.
They managed to find a Welcome Back, Kotter watch, as well as a not-so-welcome back poster for Battlefield Earth. I'm right there with them that John Travolta circa Grease was hot stuff... we can just ignore the present and relive the glory days.

We love the new Blake Lewis song... the video's alright. You'll probably remember Blake as the beat-boxing contestant on last season's American Idol competition.
UPDATE: They removed the video from DailyMotion -- but you can check out the official (and non-embed-able) YouTube video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAVZtPB8bxk.

ABC/Shirtless Male Celebrities
So, we're a little in love with Christopher Gorham... and we're also a little in love with SquareHippies.com who really delivered with a set of scans from this week's episode of Ugly Betty.
Christopher is very happily married (sorry guys & gals!) and I recently ran across an interview with him from the set of the show talking about his relationship. It was completely sweet.

What is it about scarfs that you love so much?
Nothing adds a touch of style to a plain outfit like a nice scarf - any time of the year!
I was playing with stylesheets and templates again this weekend, and would love to hear your thoughts on the new Hunk du Jour look.
I felt that the site was looking a little too cluttered, and that our logo/masthead was getting completely lost. I moved our site logo and got rid of the "mystery man" -- instead replacing him with one of the art world's iconic images of male beauty, Michaelangelo's David.
(I'm also working on modifying the colors of our Google Adsense ads to something a little less jarring. That should happen over the next few days.)
I'm "handy" with stylesheets and templates, but am definitely not a design specialist... your feedback really sticks in my head as I find myself with a free weekend and decide to fiddle. Share your thoughts here, or contact us!
I know, I know -- it's been covered (or uncovered?) to death, but I'd be falling down on the job if I didn't add this to the archives. When something has been covered to death but we still feel compelled to show it? That's jumping on "The Bandwagon" -- with it's own category to boot!
The boys of McFly can get pretty wild. They recently participated in a strip version of the game "I Never" on Radio 1's Live Lounge tour. Check out the video, then some still photos after the jump!
You can watch more video and listen to their live performances on the entire radio program from Radio 1's Live Lounge.

I have a reality TV crush on Carter Oosterhouse... wouldn't you? We first took notice of him on TLC's Trading Spaces, but he has a show of his own now on HGTV called Carter Can -- where he helps folks finish home improvement projects that were started but never quite finished.
A few more shirtless photos after the jump!
We're very excited to bring you this Hunk du Jour Interview. Be sure to read our past interviews, and if you've got an inside line on a noteworthy guy we should talk to, please let us know!
Ivri Lider is a superstar in his native country Israel, but that could all change in 2008 as he launches both a new Hebrew and English album. The video for his English song Jesse has gotten a lot of airtime on LOGO TV here in the states, and Out Magazine recognized him as a member of the "Out 100" for 2007.
We got the chance to pop a few questions to Ivri, who just started working full time on the two albums while at the same time producing for fellow Israeli superstar Rita. He has some interesting things to say about his life and his work -- check out our entire interview after the jump!
Hunk du Jour: In 2006 you toured in the United States for the first time -- what kind of reception did you get from US fans?
Ivri Lider: We had a great time touring the States last year. The fans were great, very supportive, and their energy was amazing. It was really a wonderful experience for my band and me. Traveling to a different city everyday isn't something you get to do in Israel because it's such a small country, so that was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.
HdJ: Did you have a favorite stop on your tour? Somewhere that you are anxious to return to?
IL: Of course the show at the Avalon Club in New York City was really amazing for us because so many people came out to the event. But also I can remember the show Ann Arbor, Michigan at the Bling Pig Club with pictures of Nirvana on the wall in a dingy little rock club packed with a young, enthusiastic crowd. I'd actually really love to go back to both of those places sometime in the near future.
So, obviously I'm on a bit of a YouTube kick right now... This commercial for D&G Time has a little homo love included. You'll want to be sure to check in with us tomorrow -- we've got a fantastic interview to share with you with an artist you're going to be hearing more and more about.
Yesterday, Project Runway contestant (and Hunk du Jour Interviewee) Jack Mackenroth posted this video, where he performs a fantastic spoof of Flashdance - What a Feeling... nice leg warmers!

Eric Schwabel
Our friends across the Pacific Ocean at DNA Magazine shared this juicy shot with us tonight of a buffed up Ian Roberts shot by photographer Eric Schwabel. Eric also shot a nude photo of Ian now sold as a charity poster to benefit GLASS Youth & Family Services.
You may have seen Ian on the cover of The Advocate over the summer. A former Australian Rugby League player in the 90's, he came out publicly in 1995 -- the first Australian sportsman to do so.
Check out the rest of the photos on the DNA Magazine Blog, or purchase the calendar at Eric Schwabel's studio website. There are ten limited edition copies available, signed by both Ian and Eric! 100% of proceeds go to benefit GLASS.
Towleroad broke the exclusive story today - Ryan Barry has been chosen as the winner in the Armani Exchange underwear model search.
I think they made the right choice!

I'm really wishing that someone would start up a Santa Speedo Run branch in Seattle -- I'd totally be down for helping out with it/co-sponsoring. The event photos from Boston each year are a highlight of the holiday season -- and if the race is fun, the after party looks even more fun!
Each year brave souls face the winter cold in nothing but a red or green speedo and run through the streets of Boston, Massachusetts. This year's event benefited the Women's Lunch Place, a daytime community in Boston for poor and homeless women and their children.
(Big thanks to Patrick Lentz for the fantastic photos -- he's my friend on Flickr and shares some pretty awesome work on a regular basis. So check out his photostream and buy his first book!)

I got a beta invite for Hulu this week, so I thought I'd try out their embedding option on the blog. Looks pretty sweet, you can include entire clips (like this fun montage of Andy Samberg popping into frame) or make custom clips of TV shows.
We were the first runner up for the 2007 Queer Verve Award for Best Eye Candy Blog. In the event that A cause des Garçons is unable to complete the duties of Best Eye Candy Blog, we shall assume the title.
In the meantime, I need to scratch out "Best Eye Candy Blog of 2007" from the 50,000 business cards I just got in the mail. :o) Just kidding of course, but we were beaten by the site that also took Best GLBT Blog of the Year - so if you have to be 2nd fiddle I guess that's who you'd want to be alongside!
Thanks for the votes!

Well, shoot -- looks like Ryan Barry is having the best week ever. Just named the new, um, face of Armani Exchange Underwear -- and simultaneously featured on the cover of DNA Magazine. With a sexy beau by his side, to boot! If he plays his cards right, Ryan may just be accelerating into superstardom for 2008!
...is there anyone else you think is on the brink of greatness?

We'd like to share with you some work from another fan of the site. Makeup artist Isaac Meyers sent us some samples of his work (along with some photos of himself!) His work ranges from the glamourous to the unearthly and extreme. Take a look at his web site for a peek into his process, and a look at all of the work that goes on before the flashbulbs fire.
Isaac's life as an artist started like most, with crayon drawings making it onto refrigerator doors. His love for the arts was solidified when he won an art competition at age 10, then took up air brush painting in his early teens. The new medium led to his joining of a noteworthy graffiti artists, until the group was fractured by the arrest of several group members.
After some family turmoil, Isaac found himself in Arizona for a fresh start -- and discovered makeup. Since then he has continued his journey in the world of fashion and photography. When he is not out on location as a makeup artist, he teaches fantasy/air brush makeup in Los Angeles.
Hey folks! There's a lot that I want to write about that I just don't end up getting around to doing full-on posts about sometimes. I'm going to try to do a brain dump every so often to keep these out of my inbox -- 'cos they aren't doing you any good there! Anyone have a catchy name for these?
Gay.com Hot Jocks Contest : Rank the final five contestants. I'm confused, though -- do they win anything?
AfterElton Visibility Awards : AfterElton's Man of the Year is Silvio Horta, Ugly Betty Executive Producer. Bravo!
America's Most Smartest Model : VJ Logan (pictured above) wins. AMSM Season 2 is casting. Kenneth likes Brett.
Brad Pitt : JustJared celebrates the perennial favorite's 44th birthday.
Instinct Magazine : Went with their gut instinct. (Their joke, not mine!) Correctly called Survivor China winner.
James Ellis : Talks with connex24.7 about life as a model.
And finally, one of the things the contestants on America's Most Smartest Models have to do each morning is figure out how to unlock the bathroom and fridge by solving a puzzle.

Reader Alicia sent us an e-mail wondering when Joey Vaughn Adams would be gracing our pages. Well, Alicia -- wait no longer! Joey is an actor, model, and musician who has been seen on television (Numb3rs, All My Children, Welcome Freshmen) as well as onstage. He's got this fantastic boyish charm, and a smile that would power my house if I could harness the energy from it. (That's a good thing, Joey! Green power is in these days.)
Thanks for sending us the photos, Alicia -- if you have some great photos to share, send them our way! Get in touch with us for the low-down on where to send the carrier pigeon.

Sean Faris on Towleroad : Andy shares some photos from the new movie "Never Back Down." Chris starts thinking up rules for the drinking game.
aussieBum : Sends a video "Seasons Greetings" postcard to fans. Gives Chris an excuse to feature their models again.
YouTube Crooner Ben Sharkey : Sings "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" while his car warms up.
2008 Mauri Granado Calendar : Made in Brazil looks at the photographer's calendar, benefiting Casa Hope.
Tennis Pros Sing Jingle Bells : Adorable tennis stars (attempt to) sing Jingle Bells in this funny video we saw on Kenneth in the (212).
