MySpace Monday

Tarkan is a World Music Award winning pop star from Turkey. I heard "Start the Fire" and had to see what the guy looked like....what a surprise! Be sure to check out the featured tracks on his MySpace music page!

You can also see more of him on his website.

Congratulations to our Xanadu Sweepstakes winners!

Our trusty random number generator spit out "Comment 14" and "Comment 16" -- so lucky readers Chris and Wayne won our prizes!

Chris won two tickets to Xanadu on Broadway, as well as two tickets to Altar Boyz. Wayne won two tickets to My First Time, as well as two tickets to The Awesome 80's Prom.

Congratulations, winners! Enjoy some fantastic theater in New York and be sure to let us know what you thought of the shows!

Didn't win? Didn't enter? No worries -- we'll be having another giveaway sweepstakes really soon... keep your eyes peeled!

The Perry Twins, Gay DJ'ing Brothers

We got a hot tip about Doug & Derek, The Perry Twins, as we were enjoying our Labor Day holiday. Turns out this sexy pair of twins' track Activate My Body hit #7 on the Billboard Hot Club Play Chart -- the "Power Pick" of the week.

Sounds like the boys have a lot going on -- including work on the film version of Naked Boys Singing (wished we had seen that in New York -- sounds right up our alley!) "We are honored to be working on so many amazing projects and with such tremendously talented artists," states Derek Perry. "Everything seems to be happening all at once, but Doug and I are having an incredible time together -- just making music!"

Activate My Body is available on iTunes, but we also found a link to a free download on their MySpace blog.

Milo Ventimiglia

So you all know that we are huge Milo Ventimiglia and Heroes fans. I think our adoration of him grows with every new thing we read about him. He appears this month in Men's Fitness talking about shedding his boyish figure to try to attain a manly figure.

What you thought couldn't get better? Uh, yeah... Just did. He also quit smoking... go Milo! =)

We're preparing our list of the hottest shows and casts of the upcoming Fall 2007 season, but before we go spouting off we'd love to hear YOUR thoughts!

Let us know in the comments what (and who) you are looking forward to, and you might get a shout-out in the upcoming post!

James Scott, Winner Adonis 2007

Congratulations to James Scott, who won out over Adrian Bellani to be crowned Adonis 2007 at Shrine to the Soap Hunks!

I attended the live chat results show tonight, which was so well attended that the video chat room crashed kicked everybody out... in the chaotic aftermath, our valiant host Soapy managed to hold up a sign with the winner's name on it as the chat room continued to have issues due to the server load...

In attendance again tonight was Adrian Bellani, who was definitely disappointed but a gracious runner-up. He said he was thrilled to be in the top ten, let alone the final two! Now if this were Idol we'd be running a "Thanks for the Memories" video montage...

GREAT JOB on the events, Soapy... and can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve next year!

David Duchovny, from Showtime's Californication

David Duchovny is back on the scene in the Showtime series, Californication. Though I've only seen previews of it (we're pulling our pennies together for the AIDS walk, so no premium channels!) what I've read, heard, and seen tells me that it's a racy little project.

So what do you think? Are you able to see David as more than Fox Mulder? Are you one of the folks hoping for the rumored new X-Files movie? He says that for this role he's starting to lift a little weights... how'd he do? Now I'm off to my online rental store to see when it'll be on DVD!

MySpace Monday

MySpace Page
Age: 25
Occupation: dancer/singer/model
Relationship Status: single
Height/Weight: 6'3" 185 lbs.
Current Location: Las Vegas, Nevada

You have modeled and currently perform in a Vegas show. Which do you prefer being in front of the camera or on stage?
While it's sometimes fun to play the diva at a photo shoot and having my picture taken a thousand times, in the end my first love is the stage. Nothing beats the energy you get stepping out onto that stage in front of a packed audience and getting to do what you love, with fun people, for a living. Surprisingly on stage there's not quite as much pressure. When you make a mistake on stage only that audience might know it, but when you take a bad picture it might exist until the end of time.

You worked on a cruise ship. How long did you do that and what was your overall experience?
Actually, after performing on a cruise ship on and off for three years and taking this little break in Vegas, I'm planning on going back again in November. Ship life has its ups and downs just like every other job. On one hand, nothing beats waking up every morning in a different country or going to a different beach almost everyday. There aren't many jobs that pay you to see the world. On the other hand, seasick nights and living below decks in an underwater sardine can leave a lot to be desired.

Since you actually live in Vegas how often do you gamble?
It's a gamble every time I go out to a gay club in Vegas because you never know what kind of riff-raff is going to be there. Truthfully though I'm too much of a penny pincher to hit the casinos, I much prefer to put my money away for a rainy day. Of course I'm still waiting for one of those here in Vegas...

What is life in Vegas compared to living in New York?
I really enjoy the fact that Vegas has cut down my cost of living, but I miss all of the culture and variety that NYC has to offer. In NYC you can walk the same streets everyday but never see the same person twice. In Vegas the performing community is considerably smaller and everyone knows everyone's business. It's sometimes like living in a bright and flashy late night junior high. However, I'm really not sure which one I prefer.

You were also a page on The Late Show with David Letterman. What was that like?
I had a lot of fun working for the Late Show. I met a lot of great people and learned what it takes to keep a live TV show running everyday. As far as my working relationship with Dave... the one and only time I met him .. He gave me the once over, a dirty look, and a slight scoff as he walked away. I guess I never stayed at the show long enough to get high enough on the totem pole to even warrant a snide remark.

Do you mind saying what show you work on in Vegas? I'll be there in September would you recommend that I check it out?
I'm in the classic Vegas show Jubilee! It's America's answer to the Lido in Paris, but it's staged on one of the biggest stages in the world. Nowhere else can you see as many feathers, diamonds, thongs, and massive sets in one show. Not to forget that the Titanic sinks on stage every night. I don't know any gay man that wouldn't want to see 65 six-foot tall topless girls covered in diamonds and feathers and 20 men in black leather G-strings. If you don't enjoy this spectacular show, even if it's just for these reasons, then you should lose ten points on your gay card.

Where do you see yourself living next?
Well I'm going to be cruising the Caribbean and Baltic Seas in my sardine can again in November. However, after that my plans are up in the air. Being a performer I have to go where the jobs are. Since I'm still young and unattached my goal is to try to have as many performing experiences as possible. I'm up for anything.. After the ship I'm thinking Paris.

What is your ultimate dream job?
Oh gosh.. I don't know. I've always wanted to do a show on Broadway and lately I've been setting my sites on the small screen.. Maybe a sitcom. However, I'll be happy as long as I'm still performing or in front of the camera and not in the poor house.

What do you see yourself doing in the next five years?
I don't know what I'm doing tomorrow, let alone the next five years. I'm shocked that I kind of have a clue what I'll be doing for the next year. You'll have to try to catch up with me next year and maybe I'll have a better idea for the unanswered years 2-5.

Genre Magazine, September 2007

How surprised were we to see ourselves on the pages of Genre Magazine? We are featured this month in their WEBWATCH column, the "hot guys (SFW) edition!" Here's what they had to say:

HUNKDUJOUR.COM

You can sort through men by most popular, recently commented on or most recent. The guys who run the site update it a few times each day, and their taste in men runs the pretty tight gambit of young and ripped to old(er) and ripped. Focused on the beauty of jocks-or guys who gym it so much that they'd list themselves as jocks on Manhunt-this site is a sure thing.

Actor and Musician Joe Donohoe

Joe Donohoe (DAWN-oh-hoe) is an actor and musician, just off the national tour of RENT. I had such a great time talking to him recently about his life before and after theater, as well as his in-progress album. Now I'm just hoping my new friend will find his way to Seattle one of these weekends to hang out! Check out my interview with this sweet & shy guy after the jump!

Be sure to read all the way down to the Random Hunk Questions for some surprising info! Hear is work on his MySpace Artist's Page or his web site!

Actor and Musician Joe Donohoe

Readers -

We keep things pretty happy and light around here, and take great joy in giving you someone new to discover or rediscover each day. However, on this anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks we take a pause and invite you to do the same.

Our country has seen many changes since that day. I choose to live in a country of HOPE and LOVE. Not FEAR and HATRED. I believe that the citizens of the United States and the world need to band together and work towards global stability and sustainability.

Today we invite you to think about your place in life... and what you can do to shift the thinking of your city, your state, your country and your world.

Thank-you, we'll return to our normal programming tomorrow. -Chris

We just flew back into Seattle from Anaheim, where we got to hang out in Disneyland for the weekend with family and friends. We've got sore feet (and possibly sunburns -- we'll find out about those when we hit the showers tomorrow, I'd bet).

While we won't be able to put together a MySpace Monday for you this week, we'll give you a few paths to try to rediscover some previous favorites! MySpace Monday will return next week with an all-new hunk!

Bret Harrison

Tonight CW will put one of my favorite actors back on television. Bret Harrison returns in Reaper!! ...I could not be more excited! Fox decided to revamp and then destroy The Loop, but Bret Harrison didn't stay out of work for too long. Bret stars as Sam, the under-achieving son to parents that sold his soul to the devil before he was ever born. On his 21st birthday, he finds out that he is now enslaved to be a bounty hunter for the devil for eternity.

On The Loop, they made good use of Bret by having him appear shirtless in almost every episode. We can only hope that Reaper follows suit.

Be sure to check out Reaper tonight and every Tuesday at 9/8 central on the CW.

Gossip Girl

Gossip Girl premieres tomorrow night on the CW. This show revolves around some privileged prep school teens that live in the Upper East Side of Manhattan. The real plot of the show is... oh who am I kidding. This show has not one... not two... but THREE hotties. Chase Crawford, Penn Badgley & Ed Westwick will hopefully give us reason to gossip. Check them out and then tell me you are not going to at least check out tomorrow's episode.

If it is bad well at least we can send a thank you letter to the casting director. I do hope that it provides a bit more than just eye candy!

Be sure to check out Gossip Girl tomorrow at 9/8 Central on the CW.

Scott Michael Foster

The new television season has begun, but I'm a little sad that my current favorite just ended. About a month ago I fell in love with a little show called Greek, thanks to iTunes. It has wrapped up its first season and I now have to wait until next year for season two!

Greek is a MUST-see show. Besides being funny and having great writing, it has the adorable Scott Michael Foster. Scott plays "Cappie" and you cannot watch this show without falling in love with him. Scott is one of the main reason I watch the show. I just hope I can make it until next year!!!

Thanks to to his fan club for the great pictures!

We're very excited to bring you this Hunk du Jour Interview. Be sure to read our past interviews, and if you've got an inside line on a noteworthy guy we should talk to, please let us know!

A friend of mine forwarded me this video and I thought it was going to be a joke or some really bad singing. Wow, was I surprised! Not only are they both adorable, but they can sing! I have to say that I love Brit, but was not a big fan of the song. I now love the song and think they did a great job with it. You have to check out their music on their MySpace artist page. So far I have liked everything that I have heard. I had to track them down and have them answer some questions. Enjoy!

Age: 20 (21 on October 2!)
Occupation: Student/Musician
Relationship Status: Both Single
Height/Weight: Eric 5'7 135 lbs // Todd 5'8 135lbs
Current Location: Bothell, WA

Besides each other do you have any other siblings?
We have an older brother Joey, and an older Sister Kristen. They are both 27, although they're not twins. Joey was our mom's son from a previous relationship and Kristen was our Dad's daughter, also from a previous relationship. We kind of had our own version of the Brady Bunch!

Are you out to your family and how did they take it?
We are out to all of our family. Our parents, sister and brother, and the rest of the family were all extremely supportive. Some even started being proactive in advocating gay rights. Our situation is one that we feel extremely grateful for, but sadly know that too many gay people our age have less fortunate experiences with coming out.

Do you guys both have the same taste in guys?
Sometimes we share a physical attraction for the same guy, but Eric tends to be drawn to the tall/dark/handsome type while Todd gravitates towards the surfer/California boy look. Personality however is one thing we both agree on completely when meeting guys. We love quirky/nerdy/funny and confident guys!

Teron Beal, Hip Hop Artist

Teron Beal is a hot up-and-comer in the R&B scene. His MySpace artists page not only serves up some of these smooth tunes, but also feature an impressive set of portraits of this man.

He's definitely worth keeping an eye on, for both his good lucks and great tunes.

Sippy

I had a birthday yesterday and to celebrate I am featuring one of my favorite people. Justin is one of the most genuine people that I know and we love him. Now you can see why!

Age: 26
Current Location: Downtown Seattle, WA, USA, Planet Earth,
The Milky Way Galaxy, Zeptron Quadrant, the 7th circle of Heck.
Relationship Status: Single.
MySpace Profile: http://www.myspace.com/jbadonkadonk

Where did the nickname Sippy come from?
The nickname is derived from the technique in which I consume alcoholic beverages, I drink slowly. Also when I drink at my friends' houses then I am required to drink from a sippy cup so that I don't spill on myself or cause harm or damage to property or to other peoples. C'mon Drink Safely!

You grew up Mormon. What is your take on Mormons or on religion in general at this point in your life?
I'm a spiritual ex-Mormon that enjoys the sweet harmonies of devil music; alcohol and R- rated movies (who doesn't). I grew up in the L.D.S. church and went to church every Sunday until I was 24 and I still respect it but I decided that I like boys too much to continue on this path of righteousness. For me then I didn't relate to any other Mormons, I found it to be a very depressing and repressed way of living. I respect all churches and religious concepts. I don't think of myself as being deeply religious, I do believe in being spiritual; I think organized religion has good intentions but generally religion has a very poisonous effect on people. Basically I believe you don't need to go to church to be a good person.

You live in Downtown Seattle. What do you think about living in the heart of the city and where else would you want to live?

I've lived in Seattle just over a year now and I love it, I've never been happier living anywhere else. I don't have to fuss with having a car because everything's within walking distance. (My commute to work is only a 5-minute walk). If I were to move then I most definitely want to live in London and then Paris. And someday I hope to party on down to Australia or live in New York City, I want to experience living on the east coast. I also think eventually the way the world is headed then it would be very appealing to live in outer space; or at least get me off this planet until the bush administration leaves office.

What are the best thing about living in Seattle and the worst thing about it?
The best thing about living downtown is the energy, I can't put it into words but I like how there's so much going on. I like walking around downtown and people watching. The worst thing about living downtown is the gosh-dang futhamucking! Ten-story parking garage across the street from my apartment on 1st ave that partially obstructs the right hand-side of my view of the waterfront / Elliott Bay. - Bugger I wish the parking garage would go away! Other than that life downtown is pretty blissful.

What is your drink of choice?
I'll wet my whistle with whatever's available. If I'm feeling classy then I enjoy a fine glass of red wine. Or if I'm out getting my drink on then I prefer Absolute Pear and soda with a splash of Cranberry juice. I do heart my Jesus juice.

Of all of our friends you are the most affectionate (in a good and not a dirty way). Was your family all hugs and kisses when you were growing up or just the opposite?
I had a very nurturing family; my family is all about giving hugs. If you break it all down cosmically and psychologically then I'm just an attention starved LEO, and I like giving hugs. And I'm especially friendly when I'm getting my drink on. Huggles and bubbles, CHEERS!

Hidetoshi Nakata, Japanese Soccer Star

Hidetoshi Nakata is a retired Japanese footballer (that's Soccer player for us Yanks) and is considered one of the best Japanese players of his generation. His immense popularity has at times seen his fans sending up to 10,000 e-mails per day -- and at one point registering 15 million hits on his website in a single day!

In addition to being such a skilled football player, he's also known for being quite the fashion fiend and has appeared in numerous magazine spreads - such as this shoot for the July 2007 issue of GQ.

Anthony - Blue Collar in reFRESH Magazine

The fantastic team of Troy Phillips & Akimitsu Sadoi capture another gem in this shoot for reFRESH Magazine. In this month's issue they feature Anthony (among others) in some really gritty, sexy shots -- a shoot titled Blue Collar.

Now, if someone could find an industrial shop staffed entirely by guys as handsome as Anthony -- I might just consider a change of profession. Until then, software engineer and blogger it is... (smile.)

Ryan Diesel by Joseph Sinclair

You can probably tell since we first interviewed him in February that we have a little thing for Ryan Diesel. Well once again he was nice enough to send some new material our way -- this shot by Joseph Sinclair.

Also of note, we were checking things out and it looks like Ryan has a new website, RyanDiesel.com, up now. There's still a few "coming soon" sections, but if you're also a fan it's another nice place to get your fix!

A side note -- he made me promise to take down one of the photos in his original post before he'd hand over this one... do you know which one has since disappeared?
