Jeff, you are correct, Mario Lopez is Mexican American. For some reason, I thought he was Boricua (Puerto Rican). He is fine to be Mexican American. Most Mexicans I've seen tend to be short, chunky, and not attractive. Many Puerto Ricans, Cubans, and Dominicans have an African ancestry which gives them that hot sexy look with that mixture of the three. (Spanairds, Africans, and Indians)

To my knowledge Mario Lopez has never come out as being gay. When I check websites that list prominent people and celebrities who have "come out", I've never seen his name listed. Also a few years back he was a regular on a short-lived morning talk show with 4 or 5 other men, that was promo-ed as a male version of "The View", and his comments were totally Hetero in nature.
But there is one gay connection that may be confusing people. He played Greg Louganis the Olympic diving gold medalist, in a 1997 USA Network bio-pic, and the TV movie dealt with some of Greg's coming out issues.(The movie, "Breaking The Surface", is available on DVD.)
